The tourism Feature in Al-Shoubk

The definition of the tourism:

The United Nation and The Global Tourism Organization defined the tourism as the voluntarily and temporal movement from the people's living places into another places in order to get some desires. There is also another definition which is used by the Counting Meeting that related into the United Nation and the Global Tourism Organization is "all of the activities for the travelers and sayings parsons in places outside their environment as a period not more than one year in order to trade or concentration"
There are three types of the tourism according to the geographical area that are: the international tourism, the local tourism and the inner tourism and each one is different from the other in its goals.

The impediments of the tourism in Al-Shoubk:

  • The weakness of the marketing and spreading and there is no development planning strategy.
  • There is not enough transportations and cooperation with the transportation's companies and no hotels in the area.
  • The weakness of the money sources for the people in Al-Shoubk.
  • The tourism companies during the organized of the tourist juries decided only two hours in Al-Shoubk area as a very short visit.
  • There aren't enough money sources to the developing tourism in order to help the people to share of the activities.
  • The local cultural which looking to the tourism as a bad or a forbidden thing.
  • The slowly of developing and rebuilding some important places as Shamakh, Jaya, Alhashe and the castle.
  • The weakness of showing the production which need hotels, historical places, cultural and trade activities.
  • There is no alteration of the tourism productions.
  • There is no marking or spreading for the area.
  • The unconscious of the importance of inherited so that there is a lot of historical places aren't used.

How to utilize in Al-Shoubk:

The local people are divided according to the dealing with the tourism into three stages:

  • The employers in the tourism and the people who are working with some relation with the tourism.
  • The people are live in the tourism area.
  • The people aren't deal with the tourism.

The incorporation of the local people by the tourism:

The local people are incorporation by the tourism in strong or weak way according to the way of this in corporation and the type, the activities of the tourism and for whom, and the culture of these people's society.
There are a lot of studding explain this types of incorporation.

The tourism features in Al-Shoubk:


The manners of the tourism in Al-Shoubk are divided into:

  • The archeological tourism: it is the most publicity manner in Al-Shoubk and the reason of that is a lot of historical and archeological places in Al-Shoubk.

Al-Shoubk has a lot of old historical places that since the stone Age and the most important place is Alfjaij area which is from the old stone Age 600- 100 thousands B.D , there are stones hatchets are founded in this area .
Al-Shoubk also has an important place that is from the Bronze Age (3200-1200- B.D) the Dolmenz graves area in Amm Twairat area.
The Dolmenz graves are circles stoning has a big stones on its tops which look like a box and its highest is about half into two meters and it was used as graves.
There is also a lot of Roman and Greek historical places like these in Ajhair and Saihan areas, but the most important places are from Alayobe and Almamloke Ages and the most important place is the castle which was built in 1115 A.D by the crusaders leader Beldwen in 1189 it has 3 towers, church, palace, hotel, bath and a long corridor has 365 stairs.
Related into the same age into the east of the castle about 10 K.M there is Adosak Palace which was built by one of the north and the other into the south and it's rounded of a land was grown with a lot of trees.
At the same Age there is another place called Maqam Abu Soliaman is sitting into the east of the castle about 2 K.M it is rectangle building divided into two parts mosque with a dome and a grave it was built in 646 Hegira by the king Najem Adeen Alayobe interment the prince Mhammad Bin Naser Adeen Bin the prince Ez Adeen.
In the modern period there are some of villages were leaved, and there are no people like: Shamakh, Aljaia, Abu Makhtoob, and Thabta.

The environment and the scientific tourism:

This type of tourism is the most strong type in the area because of  a lot of panoramas are in the area and this type of tourism in area like Al- Shoubak need camping for a few of days and the most important places in Al-Shoubak for camping are :

Albostan area:

It is a valley sitting in the northern part of Al-Shoubak near to Almansora village and it is distinguish of the water and the green color.

Alhesha area:

Forest that highest about 1700 meter above the sea some that it is one of the most highest places in Jordan and it is looking into stoning valley called Al- Beda .

Valleys into the west of Al- Shoubak:

That can be looking for it from some mountains like these in Ajhiair and Shamakh.

 

The admonitions

The tourism is a world item and has it's fearers as the definition, the general freedoms and the behaviors which may be not allowed in our society.
So that if the Jordanian government wants to develop the tourism in Al-Shoubak it has to make the accept rules for that:

  • find the searching projects by the university and the colleges in Jordan at the two levels of society and culture and economy:
    • A- Showing Al-Shoubak
    • B- The situations of the people and how it effect with the tourism.
  • Encourage the tourism by finding the services that are needed.
  • Finding a council to make a tourism week in Al-Shoubak sharing with some ministries and organizations.
  • open some office for marketing Al-Shoubak and find development planning.

Overview

The forest of «Al Heishah» in Ash Shuback, is an ideal place to embrace an Eco-tourism project, that would serve as additional tourist destination for the ancient city of Petra's visitors.

   The site will help offering tourists and local community opportunity to have different services, views and, activities, that will also contribute to increasing the number of visitors to Petra, fetching significant income to local residents and, enhancing the concept of tourism business with its cultural effect on citizens.


 

Objectives

The Project aims at providing the local community of Ma'an Governorate and, foreign visitors of the ancient city of Petra, with authentic leisure place, where they can enjoy lingering among hundreds of very old Oak trees dated back, in its age, to more than six hundred years ago.

In this forest, Eco-lodges can be constructed to accommodate tourists or local visitors, who desire to cultivate enjoyment of pure and simple life, and who want to be served with traditional food cooked according to its original recipies.

They can Also, find a comfortable spot in quiet surroundings. There on the top of these mountains, their bodies will filled with white light that washes away their worries and pains.


The place which looks on the panoramic Wadi Araba, will be ideal for both adventure and travel Eco-tourism. The first is growing in Jordan, at a rate of 18 percent per year and, it continues to be one of the fastest growing niche markets in the travel industry. This market includes a wide variety of activities, Such as, cycling, rock climbing, mountain hiking, camel back riding and, trekking.

   On the side of Eco-tourism, the place will attract its visitors by the great diversity of landscapes, which is home to several rare plants, where amateurs will find a fantastic place to practice their hobby of plants identification. On other hand, the project will be successfully attracting domestic and nearby regional tourists such as residents of Saudi border towns, who would come and stay in summer vacations. The main draws for them are entertainment, and cooler weather.

Economical and social impact of the Project:

The project will contribute to reducing unemployment to its lowest level in Shuback, encouraging small businesses relating to hospitability, to flourish and persuade local investors to invest in the site, that will also help changing the distorted reputation of tourism among conservative citizens of Petra outskirts.

Project Details:

It is advisable that the project, comprises the following:

  1. (50 – 100) chalets with (100 – 150) beds.
  2. Food & beverage Services.
  3. Swimming pool.
  4. Sporting facilities.
  5. Shopping facilities.
  6. Children play grounds
  7. Movie theatre.
  8. Street promenades.
  9. Car maintenance services
  10.   Any other outlets found necessary to the project.
  11.  The cost of the Project is estimated at JD 6 million.
