Al- Shoubak in history
The history of establishment administrative unity
Al- Shoubak is one of the oldest historical and administrative cities in Jordan, the first unity was established in it in 1894 as an Army Patroness that related to liberalist Al Karak, then it began the judiciary of Al-shuoback for in 1973 after that and according to the administrative developments system number (31) in 1995 – The district of Al- Shoubak was established in 1996 that’s in order to give the best services for the all people.
Sit and Borders
Ashuoback is sitting in the south of Jordan and in the northern western part of Ma`an city between the two circle longitude (32`) and (35`) into the east of Grenache line, (30`) and (31`) into the north of meridian.
Into the east of Al- Shoubak there is The district of Alhoussinea and from the south there is Ma`an city and Petra, from the west is Wadi Araba/Aqaba and from the north is Besaira /Atafelh city.
Al- Shoubak is about 420 KM2 that's about 2% of the floor space of Ma`an city, the population is about 12590 persons are living in 11 villages (Najel, Zebaria, Hewala, Jehair, Beer khdad, Mothalath, Fesalea, Aldabagat, Albeka`a and Monsora)
The highest of Al- Shoubak castle is 1330 meters above the sea and the area was inhabited in Aladoumai period then it was repeated in the Nabateens period, it was used as a small dear for the monks, then it was rebuilt by the Crusaders Prince the1st Baldwin who was the leader of Araha and the king of Jerusalem after that in 1115 AD. And he used the castle to cut the earth communications between the Egyptians and the Syrians that after the cutting of the marine communications by the appropriation of the Syrians seaside and he called this castle (Montreal).
lowland, Two churches were built in the Bazeltky system, one of them is in the north east side and has two entrances 25,6x12 meters and the 2nd church is sitting Al- Shoubak castle has circle, rectangles and square towers and it has a main entrance fro the east, and the most important things are:
Al Ewan is a great rectangles yard 6x3 meters in the north east side, Well is sitting in the south north side and it has a corridor with 365 stairs were dressed in the stone and has a spring in it's in the north west side it is about 13,8x18,35 meters, Oil press , Bath's area and Long corridor.
The castle was been under Al Ayobeen rule when it was gotten its freedom by Sultan Salah Adeen Al Ayobee in 1189 then been under Al Mamalek rule 1253 that was at the ending of 13th century and the begging of 14th century.
